You have answered your own question, the key is "properly done". I've 
seen Windows apps ported to OS/2 need quite a bit of re-working. I expect 
Mac apps will suffer a similar fate.

The problem was the original developers. None of them had programmed in a
pre-emptive environment before. Synchronization and deadlock were words
that they thought they heard somewhere in college classes, but they
couldn't recall much about them.
