Check out PC Week, July 17, where 604, Alpha, and Pentium systems running
Windows NT are compared. (I've posted the results before). On Word and
Excel the Micron Pentium-133 was faster than the Alpha-275 and the IBM 604-133
by about 30%. On everything else, the IBM system had a 32-35% edge over
the Pentium system, while the Alpha was 65-71% faster than Pentium system.
The tests were conducted with the software versions for their respective
processors.
