As I've already commented in this tread: Aren't the SPEC numbers (you base
your argument on) for Pentium computers for configurations and compilers
that are more or less vapor?

(If I've not missed some facts) aren't you comparing real systems to
optimized custombuilt SPEC-mark machines which no one really uses?

(Some guy from Intel posted that the Intel systems the SPEC tests were run
on, were possible to buy OEM from Intel and that some had done so, but he
couldn't point to a particular system with a price point. The compilers
*was* possible to buy now, or?)
