Apple owns a copyright on the Macintosh "look-and-feel".  They tried
to protect that copyright by suing someone whose look and feel was
"too similar".

Apple wrote Quicktime code, and paid Canyon to port Apple's code to
the windows platform.  It was all Apple's code, and the contract
contained a "do not compete" clause.
