Edlin was one of the best features of M$DOG (and yes, it was bloody
awful :^) so, naturally, M$ got rid of it. Instead of supplanting it,
they actually got rid of it, making it much harder to write batch
files.

This makes me glad that I mainly stick to Linux now (for serious work
at least)
