Ahh, but the OS didn't use those top 8-bits for anything, so it was
only a matter of certain software packages whose authors though they
would be cute. And to tell you the truth, I don't recall any of them.
The OS was 32-bit clean from day one.
With the MAC, the _OS_ wasn't 32-bit clean.
