In a simple way, Macs have been able to multi-task before windows came 
out.  Remember those Desk accessories that you could use without 
quitting the application.  Thats what that was, in its simplest form.  
Now, as you know, there really aren't DAs anymore, just apps since they 
dont need special code in order to work at the same time as other apps.
