I have taken 3 years of Photo classes and there first thing I learned was HOW photographic film and paper worked. If I don't understand how it works, I can't make it work the way I want it to. True I could by a $10 disposable camra but I would never be able to play with light. Use filters to ajust how range of light reaches the film. I am sure the same goes for a painter. A painter must know what paints to mix. Plus the color of paint when wet and dry changes. I would not be suprised if the first thing a painter is taught is how to make paint. -- taikatz@interaccess.com
