If your CS undergraduate OS course informed you that cooperative
multitasking is always the wrong way to do things in then maybe you
have to wait for the graduate course for a more nuanced opinion.

So what? I do that all the time, and I make jokes about SGI workstations
and CRAY supercomputers too.

Maybe the professor didn't want to admit that he knew less on that subject
than the student who asked the question. ;-)
