You are wrong --- I (jokingly) offered my third PC, a 386SX standing around
in storage, on a local for sale newsgroup (in a reply to someone offering a
much worse equipped SX for a ridiculously high price), and people wanted to
actually buy the thing.....

Which reminds me of my fourth PC (a 286 standing underneath my desk), which
came back to me after being built from spare parts some three or four years
ago, serving my brother and his fiancee for two years (with Word for
Windows, ChemWin and a number of games), then went on to the fiacess parents
(doing the same, sans ChemWin) and finally was replaced even there with my
old 486 motherboard and IDE harddisk system. It was cheap and used when it
started, and I can _still_ put it to some use. It has its fan wires cut, and
runs exactly one piece of software, day in, day out. No keyboard is
attached, no graphics card is in there, no harddisk, but it serves its
purpose perfectly.
