for a nice low price of PROBABLY 149.95
MS C/C++ probable upgrade price 149.95
Typical fax pgm upgrade price 59.95
Typical music s/w upgrade price 199.95
Typical FoxPro upgradeprice 249.95
Borland's probable C/C++ 149.95
8MB more of ram because you're dreamin' on 8MB 550.00
Extra 540MB hard drive to support the 100MB W95 release 250.00
Memory extender stuff because W95 didn't quite get it right: $119
Better disk compression utilities compatible with other OS's: 99
Just about anything else you bought for a conservative average of 75
-------
Out of your pocket to support your W95 upgrade $2052.70
$2052.7 * 50,000,000 very unlucky DOS users = 1.02635e11
(thats $102,635,000,000, OR ONE HUNDRED BILLION) more dollars
spent in the computer industry to support Bill and his industrial
strength proprietary prone cronies.

Compare to an average full featured Linux system on CD-ROM complete
with all networking tools, all development tools, X-windows, etc., with
printed manual, some support, and maybe even a subscription to
the Linux Journal, and COMPLETE WITH ALL THE SOURCE CODE:
average estimate of: UNDER $100.00
Of which, in some cases, portions of the costs are donated to the
developers directly or to support the free and unfettered access
to superior software.
Any questions?
The above does assume you might want both MS and Borland compilers
in case you're trying to write software libraries and want to test
them with more than one compiler. I have both myself. I base
the above figures on previous experience upgrading first from a
286 to a 486, then a faster 496 later on. However, note that

Thank you.
