What caused Win95 to die this often? I have had no true crashes but
about six freeze-ups in 18 months with Linux. Two of them were caused
by trying to cram a high-resolution 3D contour plot into ghostview under
X with 18 MB virtual memory including swap. The others were forgetting
that plugging in or removing the mouse when the system is running on my
laptop _always_ freezes the keyboard. (I'd sure like to know what
causes this; the Toshiba mouse port is already known to be troublesome.)
But due to the automatic sync every 30 seconds there was no damage.

: You are correct on this one but There will be many new programs that

My advice if you are using 16-bit Win apps all day is to postpone a
switch until it is necessary. At that time, the support will be better
and the products cheaper. People who switch within the MS umbrella as
soon as it is possible are going to get taken to the cleaners. Assuming
you're using Win 3.1 now, why buy Win95 now when you can get it in much
better shape and more cheaply a year or so from now?

: Your are right. I don't want any of my programs to be trashed. I might
: as well stay with WIN95!

If it is best for you, then do so.
