I bought a SCSI Zip drive for use between my Mac and my OS/2 powered 
Gateway. I have yet to connect the thing to the Gateway (got a good
Adaptec SCSI adapter second-hand and cheap) because I lack an OS/2
formatted Zip disk. However it works wonderfully on my Mac.

There is definitely a new Iomega INIT now when I boot the Mac. So, my
assumption is that some sort of (presumably small) driver is needed
for the Zip drive.

As I have told anyone who will listen, I regard this equipment as the
best 200 bucks I have ever spent on any computer stuff--hardware,
software, you name it. It serves as an infinite hard drive. The Zip
drive is at least as fast as the old hard drive on my crummy little
LC.
