I bought this Packard Bell Pentium with a PCI motherboard expressly to 
make it a Linux box. Yes, it did come with the evil Winblows 95 which I 
completely killed by using Linux fdisk on it. It got killed so good that 
the recovery disk and CD can't restore it! Of course, I can't install 
Linux on it from my slackware 2.2.0 CD. Aparently it does not support the 
Packard Bell CD drive in it. My old computer is a Linux box, but I can't 
use the Wearnes CDD-110 CD drive in it becuse Linux refused to support it,
despite allegations that it does.

Does Linux support any CD drive known to man? This is Strike 2 for me.

Does anyone have a list of CD drives that Linux DOES support? And is 
confirmed? I don't want to waste money on Strike 3.
