Have a look at CDE (available on all major Unix platforms).  Even the
trash can (stolen from the Mac :-) is there, along with drag and drop
and all the rest.

I have better uses for my memory, so I prefer the mixture of CLI and GUI
offered by fvwm.  rm is faster than the trash can :-)
