The only reason Microsoft chose CTRL+ALT+DEL for the system dialog is because
historically, IBM-PCs have used those three keys for ONE purpose, to reboot.
Because of this, Windows applications can't trap that particular key
combination. Because Windows apps can't trap the key combo, Win 95 uses it,
and Win NT uses it. This has a good purpose too, so no applications can hide
in the background and "act like the system" to steal passwords and such. I'm
sure every IBM-PC manufacturer is sorry beyond belief that they didn't put a
nice little button on the side of their machines to reboot it (no wait, I'm
wrong, that's what the reset button is for). Rebooting on current Macs takes
three not-quite-intuitive keys as well (Control-Command-Reset).
