(Cost of magnetic tape, whatever.) Wait a sec! They *would* give you it! (At least in most states.) Try things legally. It's amazing how little information is actually protected/restricted. Seriously, though, if you want to find them, check the courthouse in the city/county she was born in to get a birth record, check with any recent employers for social security numbers, etc. Then try one of those 'people finder' services. If the subject is elderly, you can bet the government can tell you where she is if you have a SSN.
