Correct.

No.  The operating system sends the restartedBlueBox message to a
process (running outside of the blue box) that has registered an
interest in blue box restart messages.  The process does the moral
equivalent of fork() and exec() to spawn a thread that will run inside
the blue box and draw windows on its behalf.
