All fine and dandy, but OS/2 still has a smaller user base than the Mac,
and look how Apple is being painted in the computing media! OS/2 is
consistently behind the curve in terms of software tools, general apps,
and games. New users, from my experience, have a lot of trouble getting
their multimedia CDROM's and DOS/Windows games to run, and software
development is focusing on Win32, WIn95, and all of ms's new whiz-bang
API's like Directdraw, etc.

I like OS/2, and I really like the WPS. I look foward to seeing how
OpenDoc impacts OS/2. But reality is that MS and Windows has such a
massive lead over anything else, that every other OS is a second class
citizen. That goes for MacOS, OS/2 , and currently even NT.

IMO, IBM needs to take OS/2 and turn over the desktop version to some
young hotshot coders. It needs that level of pizaz that makes the MacOS
so cool while building on the solid OS/2 foundation. Maybe license
Netscape Navigator, port QuickTime, QuicktimeVR and QuickDraw3D, and
release some very nice development tools at low cost or even free!
