Hmmm. I don't think PMT is actually required for threaded apps. My CMT
Mac runs a multithreaded newsreader like nuntius just fine, with several
inter-app tasks all running at the same time. The biggest limiting factor
is the bandwidth of my 33.6 connection.

Either way, my Mac really doesn't crash any more than my '95 PC. I
usually can <option><command><esc> out of the offending app, or in the
worst case drop into Macsbug and then back into the OS. It is actually no
worse than 95. NT doesn't crash at all, but when it has it has required a
total restore. Alas, NT doesn't run all of the apps I want to run.
