You may think it a toy, but it has more capability than
Win 3.1 (with X, of course). Its main problems are the
lack of marketing and applications.

*fade to commercial*

"Why are you using those old operating systems?
Go and get the operating system that comes for FREE!

Yes FREE! As in gratis, no cost, nada, nothing, zip, zero,
zilch!

And it comes with a full development kit, complete with
FREE g++ compiler, FREE windowing system (X),
FREE documentation development system (TeX et al),
and FREE games (linuxxdoom, tetris, xpilot)!

It is also full 32 bit and you can get its source as well,
for when you REALLY want to do something specialized with
your hardware!

Linux -- the choice of a GNU generation!"

*fade out*

Not having used Win95, WinNT, or OS/2, I can't comment,
but Linux does have Internet capability (SLIP, PPP,
or Ethernet on supported hardware -- it can even do ISDN,
or so I've been given to understand).

For a mere toy, it's pretty powerful, and you can't
beat the price.
