Linux is actually easier to install than OS/2, based on my roomate's
experiencing installing both.

It also is almost as easy to install as Windows '95. Installing Linux is 
as easy as:

1) Get a boot/root disk image from a Slackware mirror on the internet.

2) Use gzip to uncompress the images, rawrite to place the images on 2 
   floppy disks.

3) Make floopys of the a1-a4 (a5 w/ slackeare-elf-beta) Slackware disks, 
   using standard ms-dos/windows tools.

4) Inset boot disk, reboot system, wait for prompt to insert root disk, 
   insert root disk.

5) Login as root

6) Use fdisk to nuke your dos/windows partition and replace with entirely 
   with a swap and Linux ext2 partitions.

7) Use setup to install software from the a floopy disks.

8) Get the rest of the slackware distribution you want on your Linux
   hard disk, and install the parts you want. You can also use floopys
   (You need to use about 50-60 floppys) or a CD-ROM drive.

The experience of getting Bill-Gates BS off your hard disk is well worth 
this process.

Amoung other things, my system is 100% Warez-free... I even registered my 
copy of XV!

On the sort of money I make, Linux is the only way I could achieve this.
