I can't. Furthermore, it's an absurd conclusion to make.
You think Microsoft even *CARES* if Joe Sixpack has an illegal copy of
Windows or DOS? I'm sure their perfectly aware of this and accept it as
the cost of doing business. People's Orwellian views of modern technology
are really starting to get on my nerves.
Granted, I'm fully opposed to software companies, and anyone else for that
matter, invading my privacy. But to make such an illogical conclusion gets
you nowhere. Microsoft has nothing to gain by expending the effort to bust
up a single user with a copied version of Windows 95. Sure they might
investigate a corporate installation if they are suspect, at least that
would justify the cost of the investigation/litigation if it was to pan out.
But you and me? Hardly.
If you don't like them, or what they do vote with your checkbook. Nobody
is forcing you to but their products.
