Insignia Solution's SoftWindows product provides complete emulation of an
80x86 based personal computer in software.  The latest version emulates the
486 while the previous version emulated the 286.  As has been referred to in
previous posts, the quality of this emulation is such that Windows/95 runs
within the 486 version.  Some programs provided with the Insignia installed
copy of Windows require access to Microsoft software layers, but SoftWindows
itself is an entirely separate entity from Windows.  Personally, I think they
should have kept the more descriptive name of SoftPC.  I'm looking forward to
the release of the 486 version for the Digital UNIX environment.
