From what level, tho? Sure people build Kit cars, but much of what
goes into a Kit Cobra or GP Spyder is pre-fab. A factory can put
something together from the ground up. I don't think anyone in his
garage can assemble a car to the degree that a suite of factories does
    when a Pinto is made.

Hell, I have written a multitasking OS in IBM 360 assembler, but it's
nothing special. If I had bits of a good PM OS written for me, I could
stitch them together into something just as good. But it wouldn't be me
    who built it.

So I take it back - you can make a better car than a Pinto, if you have
most of the parts made for you. Same with an OS (NOT ANOTHER OS-CAR
ANALOGY!!!! AAAAAAIAAAARGGH!!!!). Just the same, it is ridiculous to
suggest that a product is cool because one person couldn't do better.
