Let me guess- the two stores were Best Buy and Circuit City, right?  And 
there was no inclusion of numbers from mail order, education sales, or 
user group specials (an increasing part of the Mac market).

I wonder about the impartiality of CNBC (or NBC, for that matter).  
They're getting ready to create a major online service in an alliance 
with Microsoft.  

This is the same NBC that had an *official* "hands off" policy on the 
nuclear power industry, due to their being owned by GE...
