Our Sequent Balance 8000 has dveloped a strange problem. Circa 10 seconds after the "login:" prompt when going to Multiuser at reboot the first of our 12 CPU's LED goes on, and then another CPU goes "on", one every second or so until all 12 are lit. And then it is stone dead... Have anyone experienced something like this? If I don't go up multiuser but do the following in singleuser: online -a fsck -p mount -a ifconfig se0 130.236.253.2 up arp -trailers /usr/sbin/syslogd & /usr/sbin/inetd & Then I can log in just as normal via the network... And the machine seems to be working just fine (haven't stresstested it though). An idea I got was that perhaps it was one of the 16-port TTY cards that had gone bad (sitting on the multibus). But can that really make all the CPU:s to hang? /Peter -- Peter Eriksson pen@lysator.liu.se Lysator Academic Computer Society ...!uunet!lysator.liu.se!pen University of Linkoping, Sweden I'm bored.
