I recently tried to set up a uucp connection to a sequent balance.
The link was through PAD's and the PDN, so we wanted to use f protocol.
This worked fine with the balance as the called side. But when the
balance was the master (calling side), it would only use g 
protocol. We finally hacked the uucp on the other site to announce
only the availability of the f protocol, when the balance diales in.
With this, no communication would take place, because the balance
said that there are no common protocols with the remote site.

has anyone else noticed this problem,
or is this only a "user misunderstanding" ??
The OS release on the balance is 3.0. 0 < ? < 12
