If you're thinking of recompiling Bnews under Dynix with the newly released C compiler (ATS C Compiler) you must disable the macros in params.h for STRNCMP and STRCMP (do what the #ifdef gould code does). The new compiler mishandles those macros in mysterious ways (e.g the test for Orphaned response succeeds sometimes and the search for "backbone" in the mailpaths file fails often) Sequent's working on it, but it doesnt seen to be reproducable with anything less than the entirety of inews. I've gone back to using the old compiler for news. --rick
