Hi - Sequent PTX 1.1.1, sendmail v1.35 here...

Our systems sometimes encounter errors while trying to send mail.  The
two errors we sometimes see are:

uux failed ( -1 ) 554 node!userid... unknown mailer error 1

...and...

trying to create lock file '/usr/mail/userid.lock'
Creation of lockfile failed after 15 tries
554 userid... unknown mailer error 15

we get both of these errors occasionally.  in all cases, the userids we're
trying to mail to are perfectly valid.  in a given hour, several hundred
(and perhaps thousands) of mail messages will be sent, and once in a while
these errors occur.

What's wrong?  Thanks so much...
