For Sale: *NEW* 200MHz SGI Webforce High Impact Workstation
          Asking Price: $32,000

Our original buyer seems to be changing his mind so we are reposting this.

As you may or may not know, Silicon Graphics recently ran a contest
called The Rift (http://www.sgi.com/Contests/TheRift/game.html) in
which the grand prize was a High Impact Webforce Authoring
Workstation. The good news is that five of us teamed up and won the
contest. The bad news is that, being graduate students, we have to sell
the machine in order to pay the taxes to Uncle Sam :-(

This machine is brand new and unopened (in fact, it has not even been
delivered yet!). It starts with a fast workstation and adds an
incredible graphics system with hardware support of texturing. It
sports 3.2M X11 Lines, 117M Gouraud Fill (pixels/s), and 65M *Textured*
Gouraud Z Fill (pixels/s). It also includes the Webforce Authoring
software package.

SGI's price for this setup is $36,000. We are currently looking for $32,000
or reasonable offers (FOB Chicago). You save by not only getting a nice
discount, but probably save on sales tax as well if you are not in Illinois.

Below I have included several links to SGI's WWW server which has lots of
detailed information on the machine. I can also answer any questions you may
have by e-mail. The information below has been cribbed from SGI's site, but
please see the WWW pages for prettier (and much more complete) details. You
can also see the nice Indigo2 IMPACT Product Guide (in PDF format) at
http://www.sgi.com/Products/software/PDF/IMPACT/ProdGuide.pdf You can also
pull them (and a postscript version) from http://www.chem-eng.nwu.edu/~gof

Notice the *hardware* difference. There is a slight difference between an
Indy and an Indigo2 High IMPACT. Nice deal for you though (is the Indy
config still running $36k? Wow!)

a total of $22,800. Includes a year of software and hardware support...

There's an HUGE difference between an Indy and a High-Impact Indigo^2.

And furthermore, the top of the line Indy Author/Serve (200MHz 24bit,
2GB 64MB etc) lists for $22,995.

I hope for your sake, that you meant to type Indigo^2 High Impact and
not Indy, or you ought to take your own advice...
