How does one change the login screen to something more of a

hostname:%

From the screen that shows all of the users ID's/names? Thanks.

check out the visuallogin(4) man page, as well as the
xdm configuration files in /usr/lib/X1/xdm.

If you're not interested in running graphics at all you
should:

    1) make sure your prom 'console' environment variable
is set to 'G' or 'g', see nvram(1M),

    2) run 'chkconfig windowsystem off' as root,

    3) and reboot.

*steps 2 and 3 can be replaced by running /usr/gfx/stopgfx.

If, for some reason, you want graphics on the console again:
run /usr/gfx/startgfx (as root of course).

If you just want to get rid of the user ID's/names, then run (as root)

	chkconfig noiconlogin on
