I recently FTPed the NTP time server software and have tried compiling it
on my SGI running IRIX 4.0.5 However...with no luck. Has anyone gotten this
to compile, or can suggest an alternate time package? Thanks.

Both binaries & patches to the source are available for anonymous FTP from sgigate.sgi.com in the directory ~ftp/net-services/xntp. Usual disclaimer about unsupported software applies. Maybe this should be in the FAQ? It's always reasonable to look around the anonymous FTP directories on sgi.com and sgigate.sgi.com (which are two different machines on two different internet connections). =-=-=-=-=
