SGI and Apple Quicktime?

A few months ago I read about SGI's pending decision to license Apple's
Quicktime technology for video record/playback.

To date I've not heard any more about it. Did it happen? How can I get
more information about the deal? Is the software available? If not when
is it likely to be available?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Andrew

P.S. Please mail any responses and I will post back to this newsgroup.
