Howdy,
Apparently my cross-posting didn't work so I apologize if this
came up several times.
I have a Mac IIcx with which I'm creating frames for animations
which I need to send to videotape thru an SGI Iris 4D/70GT and a
minivas. Since the two machines are not connected, or even CLOSE to each
other, I figured that the easiest way to get the frames tothe SGI is
through a tape drive. I was wondering if a 1/4" tape drive exists for
the Mac which writes tapes sompatable (readable) by the SGI's tape
drive. I have TAR and UUENCODE for the Mac so placing the files in a
UNIX-compatable format shouldn't be a problem. If anyone can tell me of
a drive that WILL work, please let me know via e-mail. Right now I'm
looking at the $499 tape drives that handle 160 MB/tape, but I'm not
sure of the SGI's limitations in terms of tape length.
