|
| I just got a new Indigo with a 1.2 GByte Systemdisk with 4.0.5F.
| On the disk are 3 Partitions for Swap, / and /usr. The /usr-Partition
| is very big (1 GB).
| I use FX to reduce the /usr Partition and add Partition 11 and 12.
|
| After Installing a new System, I can't mount Partition 11 and 12.
We don't create entries in /dev for those normally, as we never
use them and creating all possible partitions for all disk devices
uses up just about all the inodes on /. The normally created
partitions are 0,1,6,7,8 (vh), and 10 (vol). You could use 7,
but you would still need one more, so you will have to make the
extra devices in /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk. See /dev/MAKEDEV (search
for dsk) for how to figure out the minor numbers for these partitions.
Old versions of IRIX would trash those devices on new s/w installs
and upgrades, but current versions no longer have this problem.
