How can I get the various shell commands to respect the value
in TMPDIR ?

sh keeps clogging up /tmp/ with
sh$PID temp files.

I prefer to use a private temp disk.

I have some scripts that sweep out the tmp dir's.

It would be nicer if sh <<heredoc
theredoc
heredoc

would put tmp files where I would expect it.

What about the tmpname (spelling?) system call ?
Cheers!

Dan.
