+I am currently working on a Silicon Graphics Crimson workstation running IRIX
+4.0.5 operating system. I use a FORTRAN program which output a file which
+contains line printer vertical carriage control characters in column 1. I use   
+the program lptops to convert the file to postscript for printing on a Apple
+laserwriter. My problem is the carriage control characters are not recognized
+by the lptops program. Does anyone know how I can convert the carriage control
+characters to something that lptops can understand?
