Live Video Digitizer

Hi all:

I want to connect multiple cameras to the SGI Live Video Digitizer.
Could someone tell me hwo I can do that? Apparantly, I can connect
upto three different cameras in R G and B inputs of the LVD, and sync
of all four of them togather. Will it work?

Also, is it possible to transfer the contents of the digitizer directly
into a file WITHOUT transferring them to the display buffer. It seems to
me that one has to transfer the contents to the display buffer and then
read the display buffer to the file - pretty annoying. I would appreciate
hints/code if anyone has written.

Thanks/

Pradeep

Yes, assuming they are monochrome (RS-170) cameras. You will have to
synchronize the cameras together, and feed the common sync into the LVD.

No. The LVD is attached directly to the graphics subsystem, not to the
system bus of the machine. If you need to go to memory without going
through the graphics, you might try a VideoFramer card instead. It is
a VME-bus based board.
