I'm working on an SGI indigo with Multitrack, and I'd like to use audio recordings as part of my input and output. I've found the cashe of DT libraries, but I'd like to avoid having to write C code to do fast forwarding and playing of an Audio format DAT. Does anyone out there know of any freeware that could be used to play and record audio signals to my dat drive in such a way as to avoid overwriting any existing information on the tape? thanks in advance, David Ralley -- One weighs the value of rules |David Ralley by letting them occasionally suffer |ralley@function.mps.ohio-state.edu an exception -- Richard Wagner |sometimes you gotta break the rules @#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*()!@#$%%^&*Burger King &**&^^

You can use DATman. It is part of IRIX 4.0.5F available for your
Indigo. Using DATman you can record to DAT from either a disc file
or direct from the Indigo audio inputs. DATman does not protect you
from yourself. It works just like a taperecorder and does not
prevent you recording over existing information (unless of course the
whole tape is write-protected).
