Dual Ross 125s run pretty hot in an SS20, too, in a quad configuration.
Never measured, but I suspect they run a tad hotter than two SM71s.

Never tried a pair of SM81s. I only have 1. They seem to go for about $10
on eBay, so I might yet play with them. Pair of SM71s runs toasty warm but
really stable for me, as long as I clean dust bunnies from power supply.
