I have a pair of SM85 working just fine in my SS20, heat is not a problem, but adding one of the hotter frame buffers or early 7200 disk drives might push it over the top. The SM85 is the same as SM81 with 2Mb cache, the top 1Mb can only be seen in SC2000 series machines. In general the SM81 tends to run a little cooler that the SM71 probably due to the larger heatsink. -- My real address is crn (at) netunix (dot) com WARNING all messages containing attachments or html will be silently deleted.
