The UPA slots in the T1125 chassis are blocked by the CPU module holder
(which is metal and bigger than the plastic CPU module holder in the Ultra
60 chassis), and there are no openings for them on the rear panel. Also, the
keyboard/mouse port is blocked on the 1125's. You need to strip everything
out of the chassis and drill an appropriate hole in the metalwork to get
access to the keyboard/mouse port (I've done it with mine since I have the
system connected to an Ultraspec KVM switch, and it uses a PGX-32
framebuffer).
Basically the Ultra-60 and Netra T1125 are *identical* in terms of what
CPU's are supported. The system board is exactly the same, and apart from
the different chassis (NEBS-certified stainless steel enclosure for the
T1125), and the fact that T1125's are supplied with an Ebus alarm board
instead of an Ebus audio board, they're basically the same machine.
I run a T1135 here as a news, time, etc. server with a pair of 250 Mhz
CPU's. Runs perfectly and never fails (except when there is a power failure
and my 3 KVA UPS runs out of battery supply after a couple of hours!).
The fact that the UPA slots are not usable because they are physically not
catered for in the T1125 chassis means they're a really tough system but not
designed to be a workstation.
Regards,
Craig.
