What model of machine do you have? If you have a Sparcstation 20 or earlier
(ie. non-Ultrasparc) you have to replace a real EPROM, otherwise if your
machine is an Ultrasparc system (ie. Ultra 1 and above) it'll have a
flash-ROM which can be field-upgraded using special jumper settings combined
with some dedicated software utilities.

I have some OBP upgrade patches for Ultrasparc-based systems stored on my
FTP server which are indexed on my Sun bootROM/OBP archive page:

http://www.sunshack.org/data/bootroms.html

The page needs updating since I last downloaded OBP upgrade patches for the
most common Ultrasparc-based systems about a year ago.

BTW, tanks to everyone who offers to send me bootROM images for machine I
don't have images for, however I am not aware of any way to read the bootROM
contents when the OS is running. If there is some software out there which
can read the bootROM contents and write it to a file it would very useful
indeed.

>(found nothing in spares, options, refurbished systems)

Sunsolve (sunsolve.sun.com - or you local equivalent) has them, but you need
a service contract to log into the private section. I don't think they're
available from the public section...

Speaking of which, everyone should take a look at my SunShack legal page:

http://www.sunshack.org/legal.html

and read about Sun's threats of legal action against me (yes - they're at it
again!) in regard my public-domain Sun Field Engineer and System Handbook
archive at:

http://www.sunshack.org/data/feh.html

Craig.
