You could try 'module-info' from the OpenBoot prompt, it should give you some info on the CPU(s). My Sparc 10 that has 2xSM41 modules (40MHz SuperSPARC (TSM390Z55) w. 1MB L2 cache) looks like this: <#0> ok module-info MBus : 40 MHz SBus : 20 MHz CPU#0 : 40 MHz SuperSPARC / SuperCache 2.x CPU#2 : 40 MHz SuperSPARC / SuperCache 2.x Linux claims 80.48 bogomips in total (but bogomips are as we all know really bogous;) A better metric might be that it completes 2 setathome units (in parallel) in ~220 hours which makes it almost 3 times slower than my Pentium 200MMX (~40h/unit). From the info you gave above I think you have a SM40 (or maybe a SM50) module, which is like mine but without L2 cache (the SM50 runs at 50MHz). Regarding CPU upgrades, the Sparc 10 only has 2 MBus slots so to get more than 2 cpus you have to use dual modules. (But I think it would rock with 2 dual 125MHz HyperSPARC modules ;) To get more info about MBus modules, look at http://mbus.sunhelp.org/ Best Regards, Anders -- -------------------------------------------- "A well-written program is its own heaven; a poorly-written program is its own hell." - The Tao of Programming
