Acer future 31/9T keyboard on Sun?

I have an Acer Future keyboard with touchpad that I would like to use on my Sparc 5 (solaris 2.6). I also have a Sun Interface Converter. I told Acer techsupport I needed a keyboard and pointing device which were standard PS/2. They told me that the Future keyboard would work and that it only requires a specific driver if one wants the tapping and drap-n-drop functionality. I assumed that meant that it was standard PS/2 and I didn't care that much about the special tapping functions. So I got the keyboard. Unfortunately, the touchpad and mouse buttons have no effect whatsoever. Does anyone out there know how I could get this touchpad to work? Thank you very much for any help or pointers to help!
