I'm assuming the HM-4219 is a similar model the the HM-4119 which Sun sold
with many of the Sun-3 machines? ...

Anyway, Sun's colour video normally produces a 1152 x 900 display, at 61.8
KHz x 66 Hz. If your monitor is adjustable to support that, things should be
fine. The sync output from most early Sun colour framebuffers is combined
H/V, hence only 4 signal outputs from your 3/60's framebuffer. HM-4119's
have a switch inside the rear panel to select combined H/V, seperate H and
V, and sync-on-green. HM-4219's presumably also have this.

The problem might be getting your monitor to support the 66 Hz vertical
retrace. If you've got any specs on the monitor, see what they say.

The HM-4119's can be adjusted to about +/- 10 percent of their
factory-specified video frequencies using internal adjustments that are
accessible once the main rear panel is removed. I've never seen a HM-4219 to
do a comparison though.

Let us know how you go.

Regards,

Craig.
