Suntools lightweight thread info needed!

I am currently involved in a research project aimed at exploring stack
management for lightweight threads. One method we are looking at is
static stack allocation as used by Suntools. Anyone who has used (or
possibly helped write <com.sun guys?>) this feature and would be willing
to relate any info - please let me know.

Any help would be appreciated including (but not limited to)

1) The type of application and or application source which uses threads.

2) Comments on the general usefullness of these threads.

3) Any performance numbers relating to the use of threads (especially
numbers involved with stack use, stack depth, etc ...).

4) Is the static stack size a major problem/annoyance?

5) How much would you be willing to give up in performance to have
unlimited stack growth for each thread. (ei no worries about recursion)

6) Anything else anyone out there would care to share.
