I have been looking around at traceroute, and have noticed that
under SunOS 4.0.3 and earlier, it required a patch to the kernel.

Is this still true? I have also heard there is a version which
is fully funtional for the Sun, and does not require this patch. If this is
true, where can I get it.

Essentially I would prefer not to modify the OS from its original
state. When bugs pop up in the future I want to be able to tell sun I am
running the default OS.

Thanks, Don
