	For Sale -- Convex C1/XP Mini-Supercomputer

The Rutgers University College of Engineering Supercomputer Remote Access Center
wishes to sell its Convex C1/XP mini-supercomputer, since we can no longer
afford to pay the maintenance costs.

The equipment being offered for sale is as follows:

All equipment is presently under Convex maintenance and will con-
tinue so until June 30, 1991.

The terms of sale are that the equipment is offered for sale only as a unit,
and purchaser must pay all shipping and associated costs. Also, the SRAC
reserves the right to find that no proposal is suitable, and therefor not
to sell the equipment at this time.

Yeah, and if you rip out all those messy wires, they make GREAT stereo
cabinets! :-)

Or, perhaps Convex has significantly raised the price on maintenance
contracts or even dropped support altogether? If so, it may be more
cost effective for these users to step up to the newer model, or
to step out to the new high-end workstations.

No, I don't speak for Amdahl -- I'm not even sure I speak for myself.

Wires? We don't need no steenking wires.

You must be thinking of Cray.

(Convex uses backplanes for board interconnects)
